MPD Intel busts robbery syndicate

A notorious robbery syndicate operating in Metro Manila was broken the other day by the elements of Manila Police District following the arrest of its leader and six of its members. The syndicate, according to the police, also dabbles as guns-for-hire.

Nabbed were Ronnel Abuloc, 29, the alleged leader of dreaded Abuloc robbery syndicate, of 1102 Torres Bugailon St., Tondo, Manila and his younger brother Randel.

Meanwhile, four members of True Brown Style (TBS) street gang, believed to be affiliated with the Abuloc group, were also arrested during the operation. They were Christopher Enriquez, 19; and Marissa Borja, 42, both residents of 1075 Primero de Mayo St., Tondo, Manila; Darwin Dionisio, 20, of 2610 Jose Abad Santos St., Tondo, Manila; and Julius Jose Castro, 19, of 3B Marcelo St., Caloocan City.

Supt. Ernesto Fojas Jr., officer-in-charge of the MPD District Intelligence Division said Abuloc was nabbed inside his residence by virtue of search warrant. The said leader was reportedly tagged as behind several murder and homicide charges in Manila.

The members of the TBS including Ronnel’s younger brother were also arrested during the said operation after they were caught in the act in possession of deadly weapons.

"This group was implicated in series of robbery hold-ups in several areas in Manila specially along Jose Abad Santos in Tondo, Manila.

Authorities also received information that the TBS group was preparing to attack their rival group, Commando Gang when arrested by police operatives.

The suspects were armed with several pieces of deadly weapons including a caliber .38 revolver; a caliber .22 pistol; five pan knives; live ammunitions and several shabu paraphernalia and 15 sachets of suspected marijuana.

Various criminal charges were filed against the arrested suspects.
